Shadowlands

From the sub-Antarctic to southern New Zealand, the SHADOWLANDS are a diverse group of habitats in the remote southern latitudes of our planet. Here high-stakes wildlife dramas play out in snow-capped fiords where saltwater mixes with fresh, where warm currents meet cold Antarctic waters. Here, the world’s most southerly bottlenose dolphins and the rare Fiordland crested penguins make their home, while Great white sharks patrol the coasts and on the ocean floor a mass migration of spider crabs getS under way. These creatures must be tough to endure the extreme weather here at the best of times, but increasingly unpredictable climate patterns are making their lives even harder.
